"Clear Your Plate” to Clearing the Path for Awareness

🍽️ From "Clear Your Plate" to Clearing the Path for Awareness

Growing up, many of us heard the same thing at the dinner table:
“Eat all that food.”
“There are people starving.”

We were taught not to waste what was on our plates. And for many of us, that lesson stuck. But how many of us were ever taught what happens after — to the scraps, the peels, the parts we didn’t eat?

I know I wasn’t.

Even with that early sense of food respect, I can’t honestly say I was ever taught in school — or anywhere, really — about food waste diversion. Not just the idea of wasting less, but understanding where waste goes, and how it impacts the world around us.

That missing piece matters. Because while we worked so hard to “clear our plates,” the food scraps we tossed away quietly became part of a much bigger problem.

Now, thanks to growing awareness and shared knowledge, more of us are beginning to ask the right questions:

🌱 What happens to my food scraps?
♻️ How can I reduce my impact?
🧑🏽🤝🧑🏼 Who else is doing the work?

That’s where this movement comes in — a collective shift led by everyday people who care about the planet, who believe in sustainable practices, and who are ready to make change together.  Join "Lets Get Scrappy Movement" Do your part, start food scrapping today.

We’re not perfect. But we’re learning. And we’re unlearning.
Together.
